Aegle marmelos if frequently used as juice. Bael (sometimes called Bengal quince, Indian bael, marmelos and Japanese bitter orange) has traditionally been used in many herbal remedies including: as an astringent, as an antidiarrheal, as an antidysenteric and as a demulcent. (More are listed in the medicinal properties section.) The fruit together with the leaves and the root and the twigs are considered to be the valuable parts by the herbalist.
