Medicinal notes
Alstonia constricta has traditionally been used in many herbal remedies including: as an antispasmodic, as a hypotensive, as a bitter and as an antidiarrheal. (More are listed in the medicinal properties section.) Fever bark is not permitted in some countries. Other species with the same medicinal qualities include Alstonia scholaris. The stem bark and the root bark are used in herbal preparations. It is toxic in large doses.
